A network of community groups, businesses and not for profit organisations in Australia working together to promote environmental and public health.
Mission
HESN aspires to enhance the environmental and public health standards by linking services within the community through advocacy, promotion, education and leadership.
The network is committed to enhancing peoples' and the environments health through the focus of lifting the accessibility of health information, products, supplies and services.
Our People
Colleges have a professional interest in health and how environment influences have a direct effect on human health. Environmental Health explores aspects of health that are determined by interactions with the environment and occur on many scales, genetic, cellular, individual, family, community, regional, national and global. When one is assessing determinants to health, they need to include stress, psychosocial issues, and community structural impacts in addition to physical health issues. Other colleges have a professional interest in community development and socio-environmentalism, safe food, sustainable energy production, ecologically sustainable development and conservation of natural ecosystems.
We aid the process of disseminating knowledge to individuals, the community and organisations through the network.

A free consultancy and referral service is available to not for profit community groups and individuals.
Consultancy services are available to businesses, primary producers, manufacturers and retailers who a committed to increase health outcomes and wellbeing, or improve land use practices through a best practice and a continuous improvement framework.
